PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS

NECAP scores coming out soon. At first glance, they look very positive.

The 6^th grade team has voted to break into two smaller teams for next year.

FINANCIAL REPORT

As of 1/30/2012 there is $2470.64. No change since last month’s meeting.

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

·         February 9- Band Concert

·         February 10- Dance-we have two parent volunteers

·         NEW: Feb 13, 8:00 a.m. – Spelling Bee

·         February 22-25- ADL Basketball Tournament-more on this later

·         February 27-March 6-School recess

·         March 9- GASP

·         March 15- Chorus Concert-Conny and Maria are set for refreshment set up and “watch”

·         March 16- 8^th grade only Dance at EMS with EMS and Westford 8^th grade students

·         March 19- Student-Led Conferences 12-8 pm

DANCE DATES: 4/20 and 5/11

PAP DATES: 3/8, 4/5, 5/3 AND 6/7

FOLLOW-UP BUSINESS

·         How did Diversity Day and Empty Bowls go? Went well. Empty Bowls turnout was a little low (conflicts?), but it was nice that people who came generally stayed and visited. They earned $1200 to be split between a couple local food assistance programs.

·         Do we need to get 2 volunteers each for the dances on 4/20 and 5/11 or will they be students? Yes, we need two parent volunteers.

·         We need several more people to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the ADL Basketball Tournament February 22-25^th. We also need someone to help coordinate getting raffle prizes around the committee for the drawings at the tournament and they need a love seat to borrow for “the best seat in the house” for each game of the tournament.

·         Does the GASP committee need any help? Dorothy says the cmte has met and divided up the jobs.

·         I have started a committee to work together on Staff Appreciation week for this year. So far there are 3 of us and I would like to have 5 people. We will meet a couple of times starting in March after the break. I have also had several folks volunteer to bake.

OTHER BUSINESS?

• Paul will look in on setting up an easy-peasy “Knowledge Base” wiki for ADL PaP.

Next meeting date is 3/8 at 6:30 pm. Please note this is week later than normal due to the school recess.
