The mission of the Parents As Partners is to participate as partners with the students, staff and administration at ADL in supporting the school’s mission. Our vision is to provide a communication network between school and home in order to support classroom activities, school wide events and special projects.

ADL Parent as Partners Meeting Minutes - March 7, 2013

Laurie for running tonight’s meeting for me. I am at Mallory’s track banquet.

Basketball tournament was terrific. Great parental and community support. Exciting spelling bee. During pep rally, the teachers did a flash mob. Watch for link to the video.

Work is on-going for our Action Plan.
We’re in a pilot for a Smarter Balance assessment that we’ll be
taking in the spring of 2014-15. This will replace NECAP.
FINANCIAL
REPORT: As of March 6, 2013, we have $2493.81. This is unchanged since our
last meeting.

3/22: ADL’s Got Talent – This will be cancelled after all (not enough
acts). We did get several talented sign-ups, so we’re thinking of doing a 3rd
trimester town meeting that’ll celebrate diversity, and we’ll incorporate some
talent acts into that.

4/11-4/13: ADL Musical Production
4/22-4/26: School Break

Invitation to parents to attend with an ADL team
the 4th Annual Parents, Educators and Principals Conference on March
14th at St. Michael’s College. This is a team of 4 or more people
and Laurie would love for our team to be over half parents. Let Laurie know if
you are interested in being part of the team.
Correction: This conference just got cancelled. We had several parents registered, but overall there weren’t enough. Hopefully, they’ll try again for next year.

G.A.S.P. Sign-ups Almost Complete
Welcome back from mid-winter break!
The 6th-grade parents get the prize this year for filling all the cake sign-up slots. They've even offered to make a couple extras if needed. Wow! We also have all the on-site volunteer slots filled, so a big thanks to everyone who's pitching in already!
The remaining needs are all cakes from the 7th- and 8th-grade parents. We need only nine more cakes to be all set. Remember, this is all supposed to be fun, so please give some thought to pitching in and enjoying yourself with this. You can find our sign-up form here.
