WELCOME – Note from Kelley: A big thank you to Laurie for running tonight’s meeting for me. I am at Mallory’s track banquet.

PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS:
Basketball tournament was terrific. Great parental and community support. Exciting spelling bee. During pep rally, the teachers did a flash mob. Watch for link to the video.

Work is on-going for our Action Plan.

We’re in a pilot for a Smarter Balance assessment that we’ll be taking in the spring of 2014-15. This will replace NECAP. 

FINANCIAL REPORT: As of March 6, 2013, we have $2493.81. This is unchanged since our last meeting.

ROLLING CALENDAR:

March:

3/7: Parents as Partners at 6:30 pm

3/8: 8^th Grade only Dance at ADL with EMS and Westford at 7 pm

3/14: Fine Arts Night at Essex High School

3/15: GASP, End of Trimester 2

3/18: Student Led Conferences from 12-8 pm, NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS GRADES K-8

3/21: Chorus Concert at 7 pm

3/22: ADL’s Got Talent – This will be cancelled after all (not enough acts). We did get several talented sign-ups, so we’re thinking of doing a 3^rd trimester town meeting that’ll celebrate diversity, and we’ll incorporate some talent acts into that.

April:

4/5: Dance at 7 pm

4/11-4/13: ADL Musical Production

4/22-4/26: School Break

Dance dates: 4/5, 5/10

PaP dates: 4/4, 5/2, 6/6 with School Report Night

FOLLOW-UP BUSINESS:

Ø      Paul-Any more hits on ADL Rideshare site? Only a little bit more. We might have gotten what we’ll get for this year, but we’ll try again for next year, including with incoming 6^th grade families.

Ø      Kelley is still working on making sure the Knowledge Base update is done for the Book Fair

Ø      GASP Committee-need any help from Pap? THANK YOU to each of you for all your hard work!

Ø      Kelley will look again for a co-chair for Staff Appreciation after GASP is over.

NEW BUSINESS:

Ø      Invitation to parents to attend with an ADL team the 4^th Annual Parents, Educators and Principals Conference on March 14^th at St. Michael’s College. This is a team of 4 or more people and Laurie would love for our team to be over half parents. Let Laurie know if you are interested in being part of the team.
Correction: This conference just got cancelled. We had several parents registered, but overall there weren’t enough. Hopefully, they’ll try again for next year.

Ø      Please help me brainstorm ideas for Staff Appreciation Week this year, May 6-10. I’d love help!

Ø      Signups have begun online for ADL’s Student-Led Conferences on March 18^th. Please sign up!
